Your Sigrow soil sensor comes with a default calibration. If you want the readings to match your own substrate and your own handheld meter, we can make a calibration profile for you.
What you need
- Your Sigrow sensor, left in its normal place in the crop
- Your handheld substrate meter (water content and EC)
What to do
- Leave the sensor where it is. Do not move it during the test
- Take 10 to 15 measurements with your handheld meter, right next to the sensor and at the same depth: about 5 when the substrate is dry (just before the first irrigation), about 5 in between, and about 5 when it is wet (shortly after irrigation).
- Each time, write down three things from your handheld meter:
- The time
- the water content
- the EC (with units)
You can use the table below

Good to know
- You do not need to write down the Sigrow readings. The sensor logs them itself and we match them to your times.
- One sensor is enough. Tell us which other sensors are in the same substrate and we copy the profile to them.
- One or two days of normal irrigation is usually enough to cover dry to wet.
- The profile makes your Sigrow sensor agree with your handheld meter, so use a meter you trust.
