Stay connected in any environment with Solar CNv5 Edition
Introduction
The Sigrow Solar CNv5.2 Gateway combines smart design with reliable performance, making it possible to receive data from Sigrow sensors anywhere in the world, even without electricity. Its 30W portable solar panel with an integrated holder and cable powers a 180Wh LiFePO4 battery, providing safe and long-lasting energy storage. Housed in a durable, IP65-rated enclosure with magnetic mounts, the gateway is built to withstand tough weather conditions while ensuring uninterrupted connectivity.
Real-time performance can be monitored remotely through app.sigrow.com or via API, giving you complete insight and control at all times. Its durable, weather-resistant enclosure with magnetic mounts makes installation quick and simple, while the option for fast external charging adds extra convenience. Wherever your sensors are, the CNv5 Solar Edition provides a dependable power solution to keep them connected.

Package contents
Each Solar location package includes:
- 1 Solar Gateway
- 1 Solar Panel
- 1 Solar Panel Holder
- 1 SoilPro+ Sensor
- 1 Metal Mount
Before Installation
Each location requires 1 Solar Gateway, 1 Solar Panel, and 1 SoilPro+ Sensor. For customers with multiple locations, all devices will be shipped separated by location.

To make it easier for our customers, the Solar Gateway ID will also be used as the location ID in the Sigrow app. For example, if a Solar Gateway has the ID 12345, the corresponding location will also carry the ID 12345.

Next, activate the solar gateway following the instructions in “Solar Gateway Activation”. Once it’s online, messages will automatically appear in the Sigrow app.
Verify that the sensor is visible and online in the app. Once confirmed, you are ready to proceed with the installation.
Solar Panel Assembly
In order to attach the solar panel holder to the Solar Panel, it advisable to have a Phillips screwdriver.
Parts: - Solar Panel - Solar panel holder - 2 x Wing nuts M6 (stainless steel) - 2 x Jubilee Hose Clamps (stainless steel)

Installation
- Position the metal holder so that the top holes align with the ones in the holder.
- Fasten the wing nuts to attach the holder securely to the solar panel on both sides.
- Loosen the jubilee hose clamp using a Phillips screwdriver.
- Thread the clamp through the holes in the centre of the metal holder.
- The solar panel is now prepared for installation.
- Mount the solar panel onto a bar (e.g., a metal bar) and secure it in place.

Solar Gateway Activation
- For locations north of the equator, position the solar panel facing south with an approximate 45° tilt angle.
- Open the battery management system + wireless gateway
- Connect the negative lead (black connector) to the battery.
- Close the enclosure securely.
- Wait about 15 minutes for the gateway’s status LED (located at the top right of the enclosure) to light up, indicating operational status.
- Your device data should be visible in the Sigrow app within 1 hour.
- Connect the solar panel to the gateway using the cable attached to the opposite side of the panel. The connection point on the gateway is located in the enclosure at the top-left corner.

Verifying Installation
After the installation, you can verify that your sensors are sending data in the Sigrow App.
Go to https://app.sigrow.com/ and login in. Under the Map Page you will find your sensors.
Example:

Location: SolarCNv5 38401
Sensors: 17710 and 42011
The last messages were sent 2 and 13 minutes ago.
If the message indicator turns red, it indicates that either the gateway or a sensor is offline. Please contact support@sigrow.com for assistance.

Enclosure Care
The enclosure is built to handle outdoor conditions; however, to extend the product’s lifespan, we recommend placing it in a sheltered area away from direct exposure to the elements.
Troubleshooting
The wireless gateway is capable of self-diagnosis, see self-diagnosis table for possible states of failure and solving actions.
