Transpiration Module
Transpiration and stomatal conductance are key indicators for greenhouse growers. They describe how actively plants are exchanging water and energy with their environment.
- Transpiration is the flux of water vapor from the leaves into the greenhouse air. It reflects how much water plants are losing through evaporation.
- Variables:
- rad: radiation (W m^-2)
- T_air: air temperature (°C)
- T_leaf: leaf temperature (°C)
- V_air: air velocity (m s^-1). Assumption applied: 1/1000 m/s
- LAI: leaf area index. Assumption applied: 3
- Stomatal conductance is a measure of how open or closed the stomata are. Open stomata allow gas exchange (CO₂ uptake, water release), while closed stomata limit both.
- Variables:
- VPD_leaf: vapor pressure deficit (kPa)
User configuration
The following options are required for configuration
- Set the name of transpiration setting
- Air temperature source - Select one or more devices that measure Air temperature
- Leaf temperature source - Select Camera and choose either camera points or AI recognition
- Radiation source - Select NetRadiometer device at location
- Save configuration settings

Output of Module
With the above inputs, the module will calculate:
- Daily and real-time transpiration values - g/m²/h
- Stomatal conductance estimates - g/m²/h/kPa (based on energy balance and leaf-air temperature difference)
Both transpiration and stomatal conductance models can be viewed on the standard Charts page once configured

View output on Charts
Once configured and saved, the transpiration and stomata conductance estimates can be viewed on the Charts page.
They appear as standard variables.

To select the specific transpiration configuration - click the transpiration config icon and select the saved configuration from the dropdown.

Updates/Bug fixes:
This release included some bug fixes and updates to improve your experience
- Update - Improved Zoom for charts. When zoomed in on charts - fixed issue where view would reset once a new variable or device is selected.
- Bug fix - Fixed redirect issue for user password resetting
